A Brief History
After spending 30 years as a professional crochet designer, I have produced a wealth of published designs numbering in the thousands. Many were published as pattern books, others were placed in anthologies and magazines, and some were published as single patterns. Some of the companies I’ve worked with include Leisure Arts, Annie’s Publishing (including Annie’s Attic, House of White Birches, The Needlecraft Shoppe and American School of Needlework), Caron International, Coats & Clark, Herrschner’s and others.
In the 1990s, I was a member of the design team for the Designs for America program sponsored by Monsanto (now Solutia). During this time, many of my designs were featured in a wide range of publications and on television craft shows including The Carol Duvall Show and Crafting for the 90s.
I’ve been fortunate to have worked in this industry for many years, so many of my earlier designs are no longer available. However, I’ve provided links to a few that are still available on the Internet. The free patterns that have been removed from their Web sites are so noted.
