Brenda Stratton is a well-known freelance crochet designer and editor whose career spans more than 30 years. Her designs have appeared on television; in hundreds of crochet leaflets and hardcover books; and in many magazines including Crochet!, Crochet World, Hooked on Crochet! and many others.
For several years, Brenda was the editor of the magazines Hooked on Crochet! and Annie’s Favorite Crochet which were later merged to become a single publication, Annie’s Hooked on Crochet!. She has edited, co-edited and served as associate editor on many hardcover books, pattern leaflets, kits, continuities and crochet tool projects. For a time, she was also the associate editor of Crochet! magazine. Currently, she is designing and working as a yarn consultant.
Brenda has provided designs for companies such as Coats & Clark, Caron International, Universal Yarns, Leisure Arts and Annie’s Attic to name a few. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, computers, social media and spending time with her family, friends and pets.
Born and raised in the beautiful Mississippi Valley region of northwestern Illinois, Brenda still resides there with her husband, Carl, and two Shih Tzu dogs, Rosie and Gracie. They are the proud parents and grandparents of 4 grown children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandhildren.
