As always, the holiday season was busy for the Stratton family…chaotic but loads of fun! We had a houseful of people over for Christmas Eve dinner when our two middle children, son, Chris, and daughter, Liz, their families and my brother all came to visit. Many of our grandchildren were present which made it even more fun. On Christmas Day, Liz and her family and my brother joined us again for a more casual meal, and we spent the rest of the day relaxing. We are looking forward to the day when we are able to have all four of our children home for the holidays at the same time, no easy task when two of them live far away. But, we remain optimistic. 🙂
Our wedding anniversary falls on New Year’s Eve. We went to an early dinner with friends, then came back to our house to spend the evening with them. Shortly after we said goodbye to our friends around midnight, the grandmother of all colds hit me. I’ve been flat on my back recovering most of the time since.
I’d hoped to make my first post of the year on New Year’s Day, but plans changed when I didn’t feel well enough to get out of bed. But, now I’m on the mend and ready for life to get back to normal. I’m anxious to finish a design project (to be announced later) that I started before the holidays, and another is already on the drawing board.
To each and every one of you, I wish you the happiest year ever!
